Emily is described by her colleagues as smart, thorough, and soft-spoken. She began her education at Loyola University in Chicago where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Marketing. After graduation she began her professional career in the Financial Systems department at Northwestern University. While there, she decided to take a few accounting classes as she was already interested in the subject matter and wanted to explore opportunities in the field.
In 2010, she decided to enroll at the University of Illinois at Chicago to earn her MBA with a concentration in Accounting. Right around the same time she joined Mitchell, Vaught & Taylor, Inc. Investment Advisors in Chicago, where she worked as Chief Financial Officer. Her primary focus was on municipal consulting where she worked with the accounting and audit needs of municipalities. She assisted portfolio managers with fixed income management, investment data and analysis, and client tax and reporting.
Emily passed her Series 65 exam to be a Registered Investment Advisor Representative in 2012 and after the completion of her MBA, she passed her CPA exams and became licensed in IL.
Emily enjoys music, food and local culture. She plays the drums and gives lessons in her spare time. Emily lives in Chicago with her husband.
